1. Email Marketing Works!

   Good email marketing ‘quickly reaches a new audience’

   People forward on email marketing messages they enjoy to their friends, colleagues and family, according to a new study.
   
   Research conducted by the Direct Marketing Association suggests that when content is deemed relevant, mailing list subscribers perform a valuable function in helping to reach new audiences by forwarding it on.
   
   Not surprisingly emails which included incentives and discounts were found to be the most popular amongst respondents, with three in five finding these most preferable.
   
   Free delivery notices were next on the list with 18%, while more generally, 60% said they are likely to forward humorous and informative emails.
   
   DMA executive director Chris Combemale said the report showed that when email works well it is “highly effective”.
   
   However, he noted that good targeting “remains a central challenge for marketers”.

   On top of our recent short listing for Best Use of Email at the Revolution Awards, we received the great news today that we have been nominated for a Big Chip Award. We’re up against some stiff competition in the form of Wonderbra, Brazen PR and Righttxt, but it’s another chance to dust off the DJ.

6. New Clients, New Briefs, New People

   It’s been a busy 1st 2 months of 2010 at Mobious.

   We welcome Bumptheagent; Patterson Ryan; Go Frameless; The Orchid Group and Discover Durham to the growing list of clients.

   We’ve taken on briefs for Social Networking from the Youth Hostel Association; Email Marketing from Grolsch; Search Marketing for Visit County Durham and Direct Marketing for Molson Coors!

   There’s also a number of new people joining us in the next week or so, more news on that to follow!
